So being that this cake had to be outdoors on a very sunny day, I decided to just cover it in buttercream and try my hand at wafer paper again to decorate my cake rather than using my enemy Fondant. I used Jessica Harris arrow cake design as my inspiration cutting this arrow design out of wilton sugar sheets. Wafer paper only comes in off white color, so for the feathers and triangles I painted them with gel food coloring and then just cut them out. Topped with a sugar cone tepee and this cake was ready to party.
Big lesson I learned was “Do Not Put Wafer Paper In The Fridge” or on a cold cake straight out of the fridge. The condensation will make it shrivel up and die.
