So I wanted to sew something with a tribal print for my little Apache warrior. Away to Joann’s I went seeking something that I could find that will fit my vision. While I was was shopping for fabric I was so happy to find so many prints in such an array of textures. I came across this wonderful knit fabric that worked well for the jacket and the navy arrow cotton for the top. The idea for drafting the cardigan came after making the top. I didn’t want the jacket to hide all the button work that I poured time into. The patterns were clear instructions and very easy to use.
So here’s how I made it mine:
- Jacket – Fabric Joann Fabrics (similar), Pattern McCall’s M6782
- Top – Fabric Joann Fabrics (similar), Pattern McCall’s M6972
- Cardigan – Fabric Joann Fabrics (similar), Pattern McCall’s M6782 with the following modifications: 1. Slope the neckline into the center front. 2. Doubled the width of the collar on fold so it can fold down. 3. Elongated the center front of collar 6″.
Simply That!!
