DIY Sleeve Tie Dress

So I have a 13 year old daughter and this dress is the one garment that put me on the cool mom list. She loved it so much she had to have it.  This dress was really easy and fun to make. The fabric is a bit thick but I love it because it gives the dress the stretch I need and the structure I want.

Want to Make one? Follow these pattern alterations:

  • Shorten the Hem to above the knee
  • Cut sleeves pattern in view B, extend the the middle of pattern to the length that can wrap around your waist
  • Sew sleeves into the waist at the sideseam
  • Tighten the hip down to the hem like a fitted skirt(semi-pencil skirt)

Pattern: McCall’s M6886, Version: View F, Hem View C/D, Fabric: Medium Weight Spandex
